Ministry of Finance and managed by the Infocomm Development
Authority of Singapore (IDA). The portal is positioned as the
first-stop for government services on the web and organised with
the needs of the citizens and customers in mind. The end goal is
to build a leading e-Government, which delivers more convenience
and benefits to all individuals who live, work and play in
Singapore.
Directory of Child Care Services
Child Care Centres provide full day and half-day care programmes to children below the age of 7 years. Most centres admit children from 18 months onwards. Some centres provide infant care services to children aged 2 months to 18 months. In addition to providing working parents with reliable care services, Child Care Centres have programmes aimed at educating and developing pre-school children through effective early childhood education programmes in a safe and conducive environment.
Directory of Disability Services
There are various services and programmes in
place for people with disabilities to help them integrate into
society with the support from their families and caregivers. Day
activity centres; sheltered workshops and hostels are some of
the services available. Some of the programmes available
include: training in daily living skills; social skills
development; vocational abilities development; art and hobby
craft skills; occupational therapy; functional mobility and
physiotherapy
Directory of Eldercare Services
The Ministry of
Community Development, Youth & Sports works closely with the
voluntary welfare organisations to provide community-based
programmes and residential care such as homes for the aged,
senior activity centres and day activity centres for the
elderly. Some of the services and programmes include: sheltered
housing and residential care for the elderly; recreational and
social activities; handicraft activities; hotline and counseling
centre; public education; catering to daily needs of the
residents; drop in centres and keep fit exercise sessions.
Directory of Family Services
Family Service Centres are neighbourhood-based
focal points of family resource which everyone can turn to on
any family-related matters. Some of the services available in
the Family Service Centres are: individual and family
counseling; family life education; before & after school care;
youth programmes; children's enrichment classes; information and
referral and helpline service.
Directory of Student Care Services
Student Care Centres provide (SCCs) provide care
for school-going children aged 7 to 14 years old who do not have
alternative care arrangements before or after school. The
centres ensure that the children are constructively occupied
while their parents are at work. Some of the services and
programmes at SCCs are: supervised schoolwork;
computer-integrated programmes; library for children and
parents; parental educational programme and special school
holiday programme
Directory of Voluntary Welfare Organisations
A voluntary welfare organisation is a non-profit-making, voluntary set-up
governed by an elected volunteer board. It promotes and provides
social and community services in financial, emotional,
educational, health and social aid and support. A VWO caters for
those in need, distress or at-risk and helps the disadvantaged
and disabled to be independent. It is driven by a strong spirit
of volunteerism. A VWO works with volunteers, government
authorities, public and private organisations and the community.

The Swiss Club, established in 1871 has a
membership of approx. 1300 at the moment; with 400 German

Paliament of Singapore
The Singapore Parliament has a single House and together with
the President of Singapore is known as the Legislature. The
Singapore Parliament is modelled after the Westminster system of
parliamentary democracy where Members of Parliament are voted in
at regular General Elections. The leader of the political party
that secures the majority of seats in Parliament will be asked
by the President to become the Prime Minister (PM). The PM will

Constituency Sports Club
The Constituency Sports Clubs (CSCs) foster community bonding through a wide array of sports activities and intra-district games for residents to participate and interact. The activities include mass walks, mass swims, constituency sports carnivals, racial harmony sports day, bowling, basketball, sepak takraw and street soccer.
The People's Association T-Net Clubub
The eight T-Net Clubs organise
creative learning programmes and sport activities for teenage
boys and girls aged between 11 and 16, to expend their energy
and develop their potential.

Chinese Development Assistance Council
The Chinese Development Assistance Council (CDAC) is a self help group for the less successful individuals in the Chinese community.
Mission is to nurture and develop the potential of the Chinese
Community in contributing to the continued success of
multi-racial Singapore.
Yayasan MENDAKI
Yayasan MENDAKI is a self-help group dedicated to the
empowerment of the disadvantaged through excellence in
education. We were set up 23 years ago by Malay/Muslim Community
leaders in partnership with the government.
Singapore Indian Development Association (SINDA)
The Singapore Indian Development Association (SINDA) is a
self-help group (SHG), that was formed in August 1991 to address
the pressing educational and socio-economic issues facing the
Indian community in Singapore.
Malay Activity Executive Committee
The People's Association (PA) Malay Activity Co-ordinating
Council (MESRA) is the apex body of the Malay Activity Executive
Committee (MAECs) at the community centres/clubs (CCs). There
are 90 MAECs with 7500 members in 270 subgroups. The subgroups
under MAECs include:

Indian Activity Executive Committee
The People’s Association Indian Activity Executive Committees’ Coordinating Council (PAIAECCC) or Narpani Pearavai was formed in 1987. It is an apex body of all the 84 Indian Activity Executive Committees’ (IAECs) in Singapore. The current 18 members in the Council consist of Chairman, 6 Vice-Chairmen, general Secretary, Asst Secretary, Treasurer and committee members.

People's Association Youth Movement
The People's Association Youth Movement (PAYM)
is Singapore's largest youth organisation with its youth groups,
Youth Executive Committees (YECs), based at the CCs. The YECs
cater to youths aged between 12 to 35.
National Youth Council
The National Youth Council (NYC), a division of the People's
Association, was set up by the Singapore Government on 1
November 1989 as the national co-ordinating body for youth
affairs in Singapore. Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for
Community Development, Youth & Sports and Second Minister for
Trade & Industry, is the Chairman of the 9th Council. The
Council comprises members representing various government
ministries, youth organisations, academic institutions,
voluntary welfare organisations, media and private sector
organisations.

Community Chest
Founded in 1983, the Community
Chest was created to tap the generosity of individuals,
companies and institutions to fund voluntary welfare programmes
intended to help disadvantaged people in Singapore. Through
donations to a single entity - Community Chest - it is possible
to sustain a large number of invaluable programmes and projects
operated by VWOs for the disadvantaged.
Disabled People's Association
D P A is a non profit organization. We are a
cross-disability organization, meaning we have members who are
on wheel chair, visually handicapped people and people with
other types of disabilities.
Kidney Dialysis Foundation
The Kidney Dialysis Foundation (KDF) is a
non-profit charitable organisation in Singapore. It was
established in February 1996, with the support of the Ministry
of Health (MOH) to provide subsidised haemodialysis treatment to
needy patients. KDF is an independent organisation and is not
affiliated to any other kidney organisation in Singapore.
National Kidney Foundation
The NKF provides both haemodialysis treatment
and peritoneal dialysis treatment to its patients. To ensure
that only needy patients are admitted into the NKF’s programme,
which is heavily supported by public donations, the NKF has
tightened its guidelines on its patient admission policy. This
is to ensure that needy patients will get a place for dialysis
when the need arises. The new guidelines will ensure that those
who can afford private care need not utilise our limited
dialysis resources, which are established to cater to needy
patients
Singapore Children's Society
We strongly believe that children are our hope
for the future. In other words, the resources and time we invest
in them today will shape our tomorrow. As a voluntary welfare
organisation for all races, religions and creeds, we are
committed to protect the physical, emotional and mental
well-being of our children, particularly the disadvantaged and
those at risk
Singapore Red Cross Society The SRC is part of a world-wide, non-political,
non-religious movement which based its work on the fundamental
principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence,
voluntary service, unity and universality. An independent
humanitarian organisation, it raises its own funds in serving
humanity and furthering the work of the Red Cross locally and
internationally..
Canossaville Children's Home
The Canossian Sisters extend their care and
services to children who lack adequate parental support,
respecting the rights and dignity of every child, and
recognising the value of family ties. They support parents who
face difficulties in the family and promote educational
opportunities for every child.
Handicaps Welfare Association
Handicaps Welfare Association (HWA), founded in
1969 by a group of 23 persons to promote self-help and provide
mutual support among the disabled in Singapore, is an
organisation run by people with disabilities, for people with
disabilities. It was first registered as the Singapore Handicaps
Friendship Club. It later became known as Singapore Association
for the Disabled in 1975. In 1976, it adopted the present name -
Handicaps Welfare Association.
Metta Welfare Association
Metta Welfare Association (Metta) was founded in
1992 by Venerable Shi Fa Zhao, Abbot of Golden Pagoda Buddhist
Temple. He is also currently the President of the Buddha Tooth
Relic Temple (Singapore).
Ramakrishna Mission SG
Ramakrishna Mission Singapore is a branch of the
Ramakrishna Order of India, worldwide spiritual and welfare
organization. Like the other branches in Asia-Oceania, North &
South America, Europe and Africa, the Center is a
self-sustaining unit that looks to the Ramakrishna Order for
spiritual guidance.
The Salvation Army
The Salvation Army is a Christian Church that
meets community needs without discrimination. It offers
practical support and spiritual guidance to men, women and young
people so they can live to their full potential
Spastic Children's Association
The Spastic Children's Association of Singapore
(SCAS) was established in 1957 to provide special education,
rehabilitation services, vocational training and gainful
employment for children and adults with cerebral palsy in
Singapore.
TOUCH Community Services

not-for-profit voluntary welfare organisation. We were

National Council of Social Service
The NCSS Volunteer Circle was launched on 21 September 2003 by Mr Chan Soo Sen, Minister of State for Education and Community Development and Sports, to capitalise on the synergy of volunteers. It is the first-ever network to bring volunteers from VWOs in the sector together in the sharing of experiences, resources and knowledge.
